Homebrewing isnt entirely a new concept; we have seen gadgets before which aim to make this process easier and simpler enough to be successuflly carried out at homes. But of course with this growing technology all around us, we are now met with an even better solution.
When Old Economy Village in Ambridge holds its annual Holiday Dinner with the Pittsburgh Opera next Wednesday, Dec. 10, guests will get a taste of the beer made and enjoyed by the original Harmonist residents about 200 years ago. This fall, Nichole A. Remmert, development and marketing associate for Friends of Old Economy Village, which administers the museum site with the state, worked with counterparts at Historic New Harmony in Indiana to get an English translation of a circa-1816 Harmonist beer recipe that the Ambridge site gave the Indiana one years ago.
US fans of UK heavy metal band Iron Maiden will soon be getting a taste of the group's best-selling ale as it is announced that a canned version will be heading stateside early next year. According to the Manchester Evening News , some 300,000 "Trooper" ales in 500ml "tallboy" cans will be shipped to the US and go on sale in January 2015.
Earlier this summer, Blackstone Brewing Co . began a new program of special limited releases the are calling their "Black List" beers.
Cigar City Brewing Co. will the only beer available on the grounds during the two-day Orange Blossom BBQ Revue taking place in Lake Wales on Dec. 5 & 6. The event is being hosted by the Lake Wales Rotary and is a competition open to the public associated with the Florida BBQ Association to benefit community service initiatives in the area.
This delicious event is taking place on the shores of Lake Wales in Lake Wales and will kick off on December 5 at 8 PM with the Moonlight Serenade and continue the next day, Saturday, Dec. 6 with the BBQ competition at 10:30 AM going on until 6 PM.
Cigar City will be on site both days with some great beers from their core lineup including Invasion, Maduro, Hotter Than Helles and Florida Cracker. The brews will be available at beer stations throughout the event for only $4 a pop! Not to mention hang out all day Saturday for special guest, John Carter Cash! The son of Johnny and June Carter Cash will sure to be some great entertainment alongside great local BBQ, local brews and some all around family fun. You may even get some holiday shopping done with the Florida Tastemakers Market Place which showcases the highest quality vendors in the area.
