Weis Markets continued its foray into the alcohol sales business Friday, officially opening a beer cafe at its Stroudsburg store at 1070 N. Ninth St. "After all of the approvals had been done, the inspector arrived and inspected everything and examined the plans and then he gave final approval," said Weis spokesman Dennis Curtin. "Everything was moved in and we were open for business at somewhere between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m." The new cafe is the 24th to be opened by the chain in Pennsylvania, which now boasts a beer cafe in Tannersville, Brodheadsville, Conshohocken, York and numerous other locations.
