We hope you’re as excited as we are about the upcoming AHA Homebrew Con. One event during the conference is the final round of the National Homebrew Competition, the largest beer competition in the world.
The final round is a culmination of the best homebrews across the country all competing for a spot among homebrewing greatness. We have more than 1,100 entries to judge.
The AHA is looking for volunteer judges, stewards, and staff to help with the competition. The majority of the judging takes place Thursday, June 9th, starting at 8 a.m. followed by a second session of judging starting at noon. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to all volunteers who participate!
If you have entries in the final round, congratulations! You can volunteer to help out by logging into your account in the Final Round Competition App and editing your preferences.
If you don’t have entries in the final round, you may still volunteer to help. Simply go to http://ift.tt/24SCAAH and click the “sign up here” link in the blue box. You’ll need to create your record and edit your judging or stewarding preferences, and then you’re all set.

First Round Recap
The first round of the National Homebrew Competition has ended, with nearly 8,000 entries judged, an incredible feat. On average, that number works out to more than 650 entries for each of the 12 regional sites. The time and effort put in by the hundreds of volunteers, judges, and stewards is unmatched and truly impressive.
This year, 3,396 homebrewers from 14 countries participated in the 2016 National Homebrew Competition—a testament to the passion and spirit of homebrewing around the globe. The 2016 event was highly competitive with more than 7,300 beer entries, 230 cider entries, and 365 mead entries, making this event the largest beer competition in the world.
I want to give a big thank you and congratulations to all the homebrewers who participated this year. To those of you who advanced to the final round, good luck! And to those of you were not fortunate enough to advance to the final round, we wish you all the luck in competing next year!
