February Recap - via Due South Brewing

From a 44 beer tap takeover to a collaboration brew in Spain, we had so much fun this month!

The month started off with a bang as our bottles of Mariana Trench Imperial Stout were released to the public on February 1. This special imperial stout is only brewed once a year and the 2015 bottles have sold out, but look for the barrel aged beer from this same batch to come out this summer.

The next weekend we had a Girl Scout Cookie & Beer Pairing which helped a local Scout sell 95 boxes of cookies in an afternoon. On Valentine’s Day, we hosted our 2nd Craft Fair which was a fantastic community event at the brewery with talented local artists and special beers.

During this short but busy month, the brewery also hosted meetings and fundraisers for some local groups including the Lantana Chamber of Commerce, the Palm Beach County Library Association, and the Dub City Derby Girls and we also had a visit from the Esquire TV show, Brew Dogs, which stopped by to get some footage for a South Florida episode airing in a couple months.

Due South took part in many events outside the brewery at fun spots like the Oblivion Taproom in Orlando and multiple Total Wine locations in South Florida. Tap 42 in Fort Lauderdale hosted a very special event and featured 44 different Due South beers all tapped in one day.

The month finished up with our 2nd collaboration brew with Edge Brewing in Barcelona, Spain. In addition to brewing Taronja HoRyezon, a group of us from Due South visited sites in and around Barcelona where we explored the flavors of the area, delved into the history and craft of barrel aging sour beers at Ales Agullons, and visited with friends old and new.
