Atlanta’s Second Self Beer Company has brought back its seasonal Citrus IPA. This beer has everything you need to get excited for spring. It’s brewed with citrusy hops (Columbus, Amarillo, Citra), lemon, orange, and grapefuit peel, then dry-hopped with more Amarillo for added hoppy citrus punch. The aroma is sweet, yet the taste is dry with a great robust IPA finish. Suggested pairings include pan-roasted trout, mussels, artichokes, gruyere cheese, and baseball. The draft-only beer will be available at bars and restaurants throughout Georgia.
About Second Self Beer Company
Founders Jason Santamaria and Chris Doyle started Second Self as a home brewing experiment a decade ago, and released their highly acclaimed beers to the public in fall 2014. The two met in college at Georgia Tech and bonded over a shared passion for good beer. Chris went on to work at Atlanta’s Sweetwater Brewery and earned his certificate from the American Brewers Guild Craft Brewers Apprenticeship program. Jason has a background in food and business. Second Self’s beers are brewed with only fresh ingredients like blue ginger and lemongrass (never dried ingredients or extracts), and each brew is designed to be paired with food. After a successful first year in business, they recently announced expansion plans for 2016 and are currently undergoing reconstruction for a larger tasting room. Please see here for a press release. Second Self’s labels are designed by Adrenaline, Inc., and recently, their Red Hop Rye and Thai Wheat cans each won a bronze medal in Tastings.com’s 2015 World Beer Championships Packaging Competition for creativity and graphic design. Second Self’s brewery is located at 1311 Logan Circle NW, Atlanta, GA.
