Meet the Sour Sisters from Goose Island

Spring is here and we’re ready to get wild with barrel aged sours as we head into warmer weather. Combining wine barrels, wild yeast, fresh fruits, experimentation and a healthy dose of patience, Goose Island has perfected its quintet of aged sour beers, lovingly known as the Sour Sisters – Halia, Gillian, Lolita, Juliet, and Madame Rose.

To celebrate the limited release of Halia, we are launching the first of five badges in our Goose Island Sour Sisters series. Halia is a farmhouse ale aged in wine barrels with whole peaches, resulting in bright, effervescent fruit notes in a soft, hazy body that finishes slightly tart and sweet with the pleasant character of ripe, juicy peaches. Literally meaning “remembrance of a loved one” in Hawaiian, Halia was brewed in memory of the dear friend of one of Goose Island’s brewers who loved peaches.

To earn the first Sour Sisters badge, simply check-in one (1) of the five Sour Sisters (Gillian, Lolita, Juliet, Halia, Madame Rose) from 4/15/15 - 5/15/15. And good news – vintage releases count! There is no better time to dip into the cellar and share a bottle with friends.

To learn more about each of the sisters, head over to gooseisland.com and be sure to get the latest from Goose Island on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
