Research & Education Fund Is Accepting Proposals - via AHA

In 2013, the American Homebrewers Association (AHA) unveiled a brand new program and AHA member benefit. The Research & Education Fund (REF) was developed to subsidize research projects that pertain to making beer, mead or cider at home, which can be shared with the greater membership of homebrewers.

The REF had an outstanding response in it’s first two years, with dozens of research proposals submitted and, to date, 8 completed and available for download. Topics range from exploring the influence of water chemistry on the profile of mead to the effectiveness of decoction mashing.

We are currently accepting proposals to be evaluated. Submissions for the first evaluation period are due by June 1, 2015. There will be evaluation periods every 60-120 days, depending on the level or participation.

If you are interested in learning more about the program and submitting a proposal, visit the Research & Education Fund page.
