Upland Brewing Co Presents: A Night of Infinite Wisdom

On Saturday June 6th, 2015,  Upland will present a uniquely layered night of multi-media experiences at Park West in Chicago.

This event will include live performance art by Norton Wisdom, live music from Stephen Perkins, Fareed Haque, Colin Scott, and The Rumpke Mountain Boys, with craft beer brewed by Upland Brewing Co. in Bloomington, Indiana featuring the Infinite Wisdom Belgian Tripel Ale.

About the Art: Set to perform is the LA based, performance painter, Norton Wisdom. Since 1979 Wisdom has worked with musical ensembles spontaneously painting images that capture the essence of the moment. This unique and original artist performs live with bands/musicians onstage, creating art as he is inspired by the music he hears. About the Music: A group of world renowned musicians, Stephen Perkins, Fareed Haque, and Colin Scott will come together for one night only to perform alongside Norton Wisdom as he paints to the endless rhythm and beat.

Rumpke Mountain Boys will take the stage and take the crowd on an improvisational journey through their jam grass tunes. Hailing from Cincinatti, The Rumpke Mountain Boys combine signature vocals, a unique command of string instruments (acoustic guitar, mandolin, upright bass and banjo) and dynamic special effects into a singular musical experience. An emotion filled musical stream of consciousness with no setlist, minimal structure, and intuitive improvisational flow. In this way, they summon the energy of the crowd as their guide in linking just the right music to precise moments in time.

About the Beer: Many Upland beers will be on tap at this event including the Inifinite Wisdom Belgian Tripel inspired by Norton Wisdom. This brew is a strong Belgian-style ale that has a long fermentation period using classic Belgian yeasts. The nose contains banana and citrus notes, while a complex fruitiness and light warming sensation are experienced upon tasting. An enticing aroma of citrus and banana may seem sweet but don’t be fooled. It’ll creep up on you quick.
