NYC homebrew shop brings homebrewers together in support of a great cause.
Brooklyn-based homebrew supply shop, Bitter & Esters is participating in charity event Ales for ALS, a collaboation between Loftus Ranches, Yakima Chief-Hopunion and homebrewers around the country, to fund the research of ALS through the exploration of a brand new hop variety, HBC 438.
You might remember HBC 438 from the 2015 National Homebrewers Conference or Stan Hieronymus’ recent HomebrewersAssociation.org article on the new hop variety. This hop has been described as having characteristics of stone fruit, tropical fruit, orange, mint and herbs.
Bitter & Esters teamed up with NYC homebrew club the Brewminaries to create various styles of beer using the HBC 438. On October 29, the beers will be available to sample and ticket proceeds will be donated to Ales for ALS.
