AURORA, CO— Dry Dock Brewing Company recently took home two bronze medals from the 2015 Great American Beer Festival— one for the company’s flagship Apricot Blonde and another for its new German-style Pilsner.
Since Dry Dock opened in 2005, the brewery has won 22 Great American Beer Festival medals, making it the most medaled Colorado craft brewery in the last decade.
“I imagine it’s that balance of a well-constructed blonde ale and tasty apricot puree that makes Apricot Blonde stand out with the judges time and time again,” says North Dock Head Brewer Alan Simons. “I’m honored to be a part of the legacy that Dry Dock has built and continues to build with Apricot Blonde and other exceptional beers.”
“We tried to infuse the most hop flavor that we could into our Pilsner while staying true to old-school German ideology,” says South Dock Head Brewer Tim Evon. “Because the entire Pilsner-making process needs to be perfect from start to finish, this was an achievement the whole brew team is very proud of.”
Both Alan Simons and Tim Evon became the head brewers of North Dock and South Dock earlier this year.
