One of Chicago’s most authentic Irish restaurants, North Center-based Mrs. Murphy & Sons, is set to unveil its own exclusive house ale this week.
The beer – named ‘Rua’ which is Irish for ‘red’ – is a delicious Irish red ale spiced with fresh ginger developed by Mrs. Murphy & Sons in partnership with Ale Syndicate.
Beer fans will also be able to enjoy free tastings of Rua for the first time at a free launch event at Mrs. Murphy & Sons (5pm on May 22nd, 2015) during Chicago Craft Beer Week (May 14-24, 2015). The brew will then be available exclusively at Mrs. Murphy & Sons and at Murphy’s Bleachers.
Boasting two Irish bars, five dining rooms and a grocery store selling treats from Ireland, family-owned Mrs. Murphy & Sons is the closest thing to Ireland you’ll get this side of the pond. Modeled on a traditional Irish pub in Dublin, its grand bar was designed and built in Dublin before being dismantled and shipped overseas to be rebuilt in the restaurant.
