Denver, Colorado – Starcut Ciders, a division of Short’s Brewing Company will begin distribution of their hard ciders in Colorado beginning early March. Distributed by Elite Brands, Colorado will be the second state after Illinois to receive shipments of this Northern Michigan brand.
Originally introduced at Short’s pub in late 2014, Starcut Ciders was born out of a desire to celebrate the bounty of Michigan orchards. Short’s began distribution of this new division with keg sales in February of 2015 and bottle sales in August 2015.
Starcut Ciders will begin distribution in Colorado with two flagship varieties; Octorock, a semi-sweet hard cider and Pulsar, a semi-dry hard cider. Specialty cider, Squishy, a semi-sweet cider made with Michigan cherries, will also be distributed in Colorado during the initial roll-out.
Elite Brands of Colorado, based in Denver was founded in 2000 by President and Owner, Terry Cekola. Terry grew up in the wine and spirits industry in Michigan under the guidance of her entrepreneurial father, Joseph Cekola, who launched Michigan’s Imperial Beverage in 1984. Imperial Beverage is now run by Terry’s brothers, Joe and Larry Cekola, who are long time distributors and partners of Short’s Brewing Company in Michigan. Elite Brands carries on the entrepreneurial spirit and continues to be an industry leader, representing a portfolio of some of the finest craft beer, wine and spirit brands in the world.
According to Terry, “With roots in Michigan, I’ve had the pleasure of knowing the team at Short’s Brewing Company for a long time now and we’re excited to bring their brand and line of ciders to Colorado.” Terry added “Short’s and Starcut have an incredible passion for their craft and have built an outstanding reputation over the years. Starcut Ciders will make a great addition to Colorado’s growing demand for quality craft cider.”
