Two Roads’ Newest Beer is a real “Monster”

Two Roads is proud to present the newest beer in its “Road Less Traveled” collection: Bergamonster Wheat Ale.

A big wheat with distinct spices; Bergamonster uses the peel of the Bergamot orange. Grown in dry Mediterranean climates such as the Iberian peninsula of Europe and California, the bergamot is a special fruit whose peel is most widely known as an additive in some teas from around the world.

“This is a new beer for us and one that I am proud to say is truly unique,” said Brewmaster Phil Markowski. “It wasn’t easy but we tracked down enough fresh bergamot oranges to make a full batch of Bergamonster. Bergamot oranges are really intense and really different from other types of oranges. They lend a distinctive “perfume” note and are famously used as the signature flavoring in Earl Grey tea. I thought, why not use them in a beer? The result is a restrained but recognizable note of bergamot character that makes this beer one-of-a-kind.”

Bergamonster also features a collection of New and Old style hops (Hallertau Tradition and Citra). Its ABV hovers around 8.2% but the beer is deceptively smooth and easy drinking.

Bergamonster unfiltered wheat is available on draft in select accounts in the Two Roads market as well as in 750mL bottles that can be procured at many fine beer selling establishments.
